The Rise of Asian Supermarket Online in Canada

As Covid-19 continues to cause economic and humanitarian crises around the world, businesses in all industries and sectors are grappling with their daily operations and business strategies. In urban areas, supply chain disruptions, staff shortages and store closures have made it impossible for retailers to provide viable customer service.

Asian supermarkets such as TEZMART

· As one of the largest Asian supermarkets in Canada, TEZMART quickly adapted to the changing environment and developed more efficient, secure and productive processes and systems. With stores in 26 cities across Canada, TEZMART brings authentic Asian cuisine to the community and offers a wide range of Asian food options across Canada.

· But it hasn't always been easy. TEZMART Supermarket also faced significant problems and losses when Covid-19 began to appear in many parts of the country. Its Ottawa store was hit harder than its nine eastern stores, losing much of its consumer market.

· However, by adapting to the realities of the pandemic and its aftermath, TEZMART was able to maintain its position as the largest Asian online supermarket in Canada. The company achieved this position by making progress in a challenging business environment through the development, implementation and maintenance of pandemic-friendly practices and initiatives.

· Below are some examples of how Tezmart supermarkets have helped their customers during the pandemic.

TEZMART Online Store

TEZMART recognized a shift in customer behavior and used the online channel to set up an e-commerce store for consumers who wanted to purchase products from the comfort of their own homes. The online site offers a wide selection of grocery products that are also available in retail stores. All you have to do is register on the TEZMART website and get a loyalty card if you don't already have one.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email informing you that you can now shop online at TEZMART.

Payment and Delivery

You can pay in the TEZMART online store by Visa and MasterCard as well as Alipay and WeChat.

You can order delivery or Click & Collect service to have all food categories delivered to your door. This includes meat, seafood, bread, kitchen snacks, dairy products, frozen foods, cosmetics and household items. If you choose home delivery, you can only order snacks, groceries, household items and cosmetics.

All products sold online at TEZMART are also available in retail stores and meet the same quality standards.

New TEZMART Mobile Website

While Canadians are forced to be secluded at home, they are also buying their food products online and in supermarkets. This shift in consumer behavior and shopping habits means that online shopping is now more common than ever.

When blockchain was first introduced, the early days were tumultuous, as TEZMART was unable to track orders from its WeChat account. E-commerce was not yet fully developed, and department heads had to manually track orders and deliveries.

Customers were demanding a faster and more efficient channel and TEZMART needed to deliver. We developed a mobile app that allows customers to order directly from their smartphones.
