Why Employer Use Computer Monitoring Software

Writer's picture: Informative BloggerInformative Blogger

As a manager, you should seriously consider using software to monitor your employees' computer terminals. If you don't think you need it, you are one of the few managers who do. The fact is that about two-thirds of companies use monitoring software for their employees' computer terminals. This is a good business practice that can save you a lot of money.

Every time an employee gets distracted and connects to the Internet, the company's data is seriously compromised. Why? Because there are many websites with malware that can get into your network. Before you know it, your data will be passed on to hackers.

As a manager, you should not tell your employees that you will be monitoring their computer terminals with workforce productivity software. You can mention this after the employee is hired, but if the employee then decides to use their computer for activities that have nothing to do with the company, you can fire them for not following company policy.

The employee will not even know that such a program exists on their computer. The program is designed to run in stealth mode so that it cannot be detected. It can record everything you do on your computer, including emails you send and receive, chats, websites you visit, passwords, and screenshots. In short, everything you do on your computer is recorded and sent back to you.

This information can be invaluable and very useful for many reasons. You can determine which employees are engaged and which ones are not working at all.
